Oyo Police Arrest Three Suspected Vehicle Snatchers

On June 20, 2023, the Oyo State Police Command arrested three suspected vehicle snatchers in Ibadan, identified as Akinpelu Afeez (39), Taiwo Adam (45), and Salawudeen Taofeeq (35). The arrests followed credible intelligence regarding a syndicate specializing in the theft of exotic vehicles.

The suspects were apprehended in the Olorunsogo area of Ibadan while allegedly planning a robbery. During interrogation, they confessed to their involvement in multiple vehicle thefts across the Ibadan metropolis.

A subsequent search warrant executed at their hideout in the Aremo area led to the recovery of two locally made cut-to-size single barrel guns and six live cartridges. The Oyo State Police Command is continuing its investigation to dismantle the criminal network and track down other members of the syndicate, urging the public to remain vigilant and report any credible information to assist in their efforts.
