Kano Police Arrest Three Vehicle Thieves, Recover Stolen Cars

The Kano State Police Command arrested three suspected vehicle thieves in separate intelligence-led operations, recovering four allegedly stolen tricycles and a maroon Pontiac vehicle. CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa announced the arrests on Tuesday.

The first incident began on August 4 when Abubakar Ali reported his tricycle stolen at the Bompai Police Division after picking up a passenger, Muhammad Sani, who allegedly stole the vehicle. Following Ali's report, police alerted neighboring divisions, leading to Sani's arrest by Bichi Police Division.

Investigators traced the operation to Katsina State, where they arrested Aminu Saad, who confessed to being part of the syndicate and had four stolen tricycles. In a separate operation, Isah Yusuf was arrested on July 25 with a maroon Pontiac vehicle, which was found to be stolen from Taraba State.

The rightful owner of the Pontiac is urged to come forward with proof of ownership. Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Bakori praised the operations and emphasized the importance of intelligence-led policing.
