Oyo Police Arrest Two in Nathaniel Peter Kidnapping Case

On September 24, 2026, at approximately 4:20 am, three armed men invaded the home of 38-year-old Nathaniel Peter in Layeri Village, located in the Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, and abducted him. Following a report made at about 5:50 pm the same day, the Oyo State Police Command, led by Police Public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlade, initiated a swift response.

The assailants escaped through the National Reserve Forest, taking a Hajue motorcycle and Peter's mobile phone. In the course of the investigation, police arrested two suspects, Muhammadu Abubakar and 17-year-old Jayun Danali, who are currently providing information relevant to the case.

The police have intensified operations in collaboration with other security agencies to secure the victim's safe rescue and apprehend additional members of the criminal gang.
