Kano Police Deploy 250 Officers to Boost Border Security

On Tuesday, the Kano State Police Command deployed 250 officers to border local government areas following a one-month intensive combat and weapon-handling training at the No. 9 Police Mobile Force (PMF) in Hotoro and No. 52 PMF in Challawa. Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, stated that this deployment is part of the command’s operational strategy to strengthen security along the state’s borders and frontline communities.

He instructed the officers to remain vigilant, professional, and fair, ensuring that the use of firearms is within legal limits and respects citizens' rights. The training included combat drills, human rights education, and community-based policing, aligning with the strategic vision of Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

ACP Afeez Oyekan, Commanding Officer of No. 9 PMF, highlighted the rigorous training in modern weapon handling and crowd-control techniques. Bakori acknowledged the support from the Kano State Government and residents, declaring the training closed and directing the officers to their new assignments to enhance police visibility and response to security threats.
