Anambra CP Summons DPOs Over Police Conduct Issues

On Thursday, CP Nnanna Oji Ama of the Anambra State Command summoned the Area Commander and all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) serving in Onitsha for a high-level supervisory meeting. This meeting was prompted by an incident that occurred at Head Bridge, Onitsha, on Wednesday.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Tochukwu Ikenga (SP), stated that the meeting aimed to enhance operational supervision, accountability, and professionalism within the Command, particularly in Onitsha, a major commercial center. CP Ama directed the DPOs to provide detailed briefings on the security situation and measures to prevent unprofessional conduct.

He reiterated a zero-tolerance policy for misconduct, stating that any officer abusing their powers would face disciplinary action. The Commissioner urged DPOs to strengthen internal supervision and address complaints from the public.

He assured the residents of Onitsha of the Command's commitment to effective and accountable policing and encouraged them to report security concerns through a dedicated WhatsApp line.
