FRSC Officials Among Nine Abducted in Kogi State Attack

On Thursday at around 6 PM, a group of nine people, including two officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), were abducted in Kogi State while traveling to Otukpo, Benue State, for the burial of late Augustin O. Ikwu.

The ambush occurred when their vehicle was intercepted. Lawal Fagg, the Kogi State sector commander of the FRSC, confirmed the incident.

The abductors later abandoned the corpse of the deceased official near Ejul Community, and the search operations were intensified by security agencies to rescue the victims unharmed. The kidnappers contacted the family of the deceased, demanding a ransom of N450 million for the release of the captives.

The incident has raised concerns among the local community, with Senator Abba Moro condemning the attack and urging security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
