Police Force Denies Neglect of Officers in Osun Election

The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed reports claiming that hundreds of police personnel deployed to Osun State for the August 15, 2026 governorship election were left without adequate food and welfare provisions. Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, clarified that the ongoing deployment is part of established post-election security procedures, aimed at sustaining security, preventing post-election violence, and ensuring a smooth transition to normal policing.

The police force rejected claims of neglect, asserting that all officers received their approved entitlements and that command structures are responsible for their welfare.
