Police Recover 11 Rustled Cattle in Sokoto Operation

The Sokoto State Police Command successfully foiled a bandit attack in Ayawa Village, Tangaza Local Government Area, recovering 11 rustled cattle. The incident occurred on Monday evening when bandits invaded the village and fired sporadically.

A distress call led to an immediate response from the police division, which included the anti-kidnap unit and the village crime reduction unit. The police engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel, ultimately overwhelming them and forcing them to flee into a nearby forest, leaving the cattle behind.

Additionally, four suspects were arrested in connection with a burglary in the Guiwa Low Cost Area of Sokoto Metropolis, where 53 pieces of women's wrapper material were stolen. The suspect, Mustapha Danbaba, allegedly confessed to the crime and revealed that he sold the stolen items.

Furthermore, the police arrested members of a motorcycle theft syndicate, with ongoing investigations into these thefts. The Commissioner of Police, Hassan Shaffa, reaffirmed the command's commitment to eradicating crime in the state.
