Bauchi Police Recover Six Cows in Cattle Rustling Foil

On June 23, 2026, at approximately 12:30 hours, the Bauchi State Police Command received credible information regarding an attempt at cattle rustling in the Bakal area of Bauchi. Acting on this intelligence, a police team, in conjunction with a group of vigilantes, pursued unidentified cattle rustlers who were seen fleeing with six cows towards a riverbank.

The operation was successful, resulting in the recovery of the livestock, which was subsequently moved into police custody for identification and to trace the rightful owner. The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sani Omolori Aliyu, ordered a discreet investigation to track down the fleeing rustlers.

He commended the gallantry and resilience of the officers involved in the operation and urged the public to remain security-conscious and continue collaborating with the police by providing timely information.
