Police Investigate Murder of Kwara Farmer Azeez Garba

The Kwara State Police Command has launched a homicide investigation into the murder of farmer Azeez Garba, whose body was discovered on farmland along the Owa Onir Axis in Isanlu, Isin Local Government Area. The state Commissioner of Police, Ojo Adekimi, directed the Criminal Investigation Department to immediately deploy resources for the investigation.

In a statement issued by the police public relations officer, Adetoun Ejir Adeyemi, the murder was described as cruel and senseless. Preliminary findings indicated that Garba left home for his cocoa farm but failed to return, prompting a search by family members and local vigilantes.

His lifeless body was later found a short distance away, bearing deep machete wounds. No arrests have been made yet, but the police assured the family and the public that every available lead will be pursued to ensure justice is served.

The deceased's daughter, Abdulazeez Rofi'at, expressed the family's desire for accountability and justice.
