Six Arrested for Abduction and Murder in Kwara State

Six individuals have been arrested for the alleged abduction and murder of Sulaiman Rilwan in Offa, Kwara State. Rilwan was reported missing after leaving his home on July 26, with his disappearance reported to the police two days later.

The Kwara State Police Command, led by Commissioner Ojo Adekimi, initiated a comprehensive investigation, which identified Mohammed Jamiu as the last person to have contact with Rilwan. Jamiu was arrested and allegedly confessed, leading police to an abandoned well where Rilwan's body was recovered.

Five additional suspects—Fashola Abdulfatai (19), Daniel Gideon (24), Adegoke Oladimeji (25), Aliyu Yusuf (26), and Abubakar Ahmed (55)—were also arrested for their roles in the crime. The suspects are being investigated for conspiracy to commit kidnapping, aiding and abetting kidnapping, kidnapping, and culpable homicide.

Police are still searching for another suspect who fled and are working to recover the firearm used in the crime.
