Police Pursue Killers of Benue MACBAN Chairman Yakubu Isah

The Benue State Police Command has launched a manhunt for the perpetrators responsible for the murder of Yakubu Isah, the Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN). The attack occurred on Friday afternoon along Okwudu Ogoli Road.

The Commissioner of Police, Cletu Nwadiogbu, condemned the killing as a senseless criminal act that could undermine peace and security efforts in Benue State. He expressed condolences to the victim's family and assured residents that the police would leave no stone unturned in ensuring the arrest and prosecution of those responsible.

Governor Hyacinth Alia also condemned the killing, describing it as a direct attempt to undermine reconciliation efforts in the state. He ordered security agencies to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into the murder and to strengthen the protection of community leaders involved in peace-building efforts.

The governor urged residents to remain peaceful and law-abiding, warning against actions that could disrupt the fragile peace in the state.
