Akume Condemns Killing of MACBAN Leader, Demands Justice

Georg Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, expressed shock and sadness over the killing of Alhaji Ardo Risku, the chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Benue State. Akume described the attack as reprehensible and unacceptable, particularly at a time when Benue State had been experiencing improvements in security challenges.

He warned that enemies of peace should not be allowed to reverse the gains made through dialogue and reconciliation. Akume urged residents to remain calm and support security agencies with credible information.

He emphasized the importance of peace for development, investment, and economic prosperity. Akume extended condolences to the family of the late Alhaji Ardo Risku, the leadership of MACBAN, and others affected by this tragedy.

He called on the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure that those responsible are arrested and prosecuted.
