SGF Calls for Justice After MACBAN Chairman's Killing

Mr. Yomi Odunuga, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, condemned the killing of the MACBAN chairman and demanded swift justice.

He called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the murder, describing the incident as a direct attack on peace and reconciliation efforts in Benue State. Odunuga expressed concern over the timing of the killing, which occurred as the state was experiencing improvements in security and peaceful coexistence among its diverse communities.

He warned against allowing criminal elements to undermine these achievements and urged residents to reject attempts to incite hatred and violence. The SGF extended condolences to the family of the late MACBAN chairman and called for a thorough and transparent investigation by the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services.

He reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu's commitment to tackling insecurity across the country and urged Benue residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies.
