Police Arrest Kidnapper During N10M Ransom Exchange

On May 9, 2026, Alhaji Bagudu was abducted from his residence in Ilowa Village, Atiba Local Government Area, by a gang of six armed men who subsequently demanded a ransom of N10 million. The Oyo State Police Command, led by State Commissioner Olugbemiga Abimbola, received credible intelligence and coordinated a joint operation with the Vigilant Group Nigeria to rescue the victim and apprehend the kidnappers.

Following the successful rescue of Bagudu, the police advanced towards the scene and engaged in a gun duel with the suspects, resulting in the arrest of Moham Sanni. During the operation, a motorcycle and other items were recovered.

Sanni is currently in custody and has made a confession regarding his involvement in the kidnapping syndicate. The police are actively pursuing the remaining gang members and have urged the public to report any credible information.
