Police Investigate Suspicious Death of Calabar Bolt Driver

The Cross River State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the death of 29-year-old Bolt driver Emmanuel Effiong Ita, whose body was discovered in his Honda City vehicle along the Target–Udy King axis of Calabar on Friday. Ita, a resident of Ikot Effanga Mkpa, was found dead under suspicious circumstances.

Police Public Relations Officer Sunday Eitokpah stated that the command received information about the incident and dispatched personnel to the scene; however, Ita's remains had already been taken by his family to the general hospital mortuary. A preliminary examination at the mortuary indicated an injury on Ita's chest.

The police have recovered the vehicle and are preserving relevant evidence for forensic examination. Eitokpah confirmed that the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding Ita's death.

He urged the public to refrain from speculation as the investigation proceeds.
