Bauchi Police Investigate Officer's Salary Resignation Claim

The Bauchi State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the resignation of CPL Yusuf Aliyu, who claimed he had not accessed his salary for two years. Aliyu announced his resignation via social media, citing this issue.

However, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafi’u Habib, stated that preliminary findings revealed Aliyu's salary had been paid "promptly and consistently." The investigation was ordered by Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu, who noted that the salary access problem stemmed from a discrepancy in Aliyu's Bank Verification Number (BVN), where the name linked to the BVN did not match the name on his salary account. The command criticized Aliyu for using social media to express his grievances instead of following internal procedures, which violates the Nigeria Police Force Social Media Policy.

The Commissioner reassured personnel that their welfare is a priority and emphasized adherence to established complaint channels.
