Police Recover 43 Rustled Sheep in Sokoto Bandit Attack

On Friday, the Sokoto State Police Command announced the recovery of 43 sheep that were rustled during a bandit attack on Anada Village in Binji Local Government Area. The incident took place at approximately 9:00 PM on Thursday when armed bandits invaded the village, firing shots and stealing the sheep belonging to local residents.

Following the attack, Ahmad Rufa’i, the Police Public Relations Officer, stated that the Divisional Police Officer in Binji quickly mobilized a tactical team, which included personnel from the Anti-Kidnapping Squad and the Viable Crime Response Unit, to pursue the fleeing bandits. The police operatives successfully blocked escape routes and engaged the attackers in a gun battle.

The bandits, unable to withstand the police's superior firepower, abandoned the sheep and fled into nearby forests. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties or injuries among the police or community members.

The police have initiated a coordinated manhunt in the surrounding areas to apprehend the suspects and prevent further attacks.
