Oyo Police Recover N32m Goods, Arrest Two Suspects

The Oyo State Police Command conducted an operation in Oyo Town, resulting in the recovery of goods valued at N32 million and the arrest of two suspects, Olawale Kareem (40) and Ogunbiyi Monday (46). The operation targeted a criminal syndicate allegedly involved in the diversion and unlawful conversion of goods in transit.

A statement from the command’s spokesperson, Olayinka Ayanlade, detailed that an IVECO truck/trailer with registration number MUS 809 XY (Lagos), loaded with 570 bags of guinea corn diverted from Kaduna State, was recovered. Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects confessed to their roles in the crime.

The Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Abimbola, commended the operatives for their professionalism and emphasized the command's commitment to dismantling criminal networks threatening economic security. He warned individuals engaged in economic sabotage to desist or face legal consequences, urging the public to report suspicious activities.
