Edo Police Rescue Abducted Cattle Dealer After 8 Days

On July 15, 2026, the Edo Police Command successfully rescued a cattle dealer who had been abducted on July 7, 2026, along the Igarra-Auchi expressway. The operation was led by CSP Eno Ikoedem Balogun and involved the Anti-Kidnap Unit, the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU), and a police drone unit.

Following sustained intelligence-driven operations, police conducted aerial patrols and helicopter surveillance in the Imoga Forest area, where the victim was held captive. The captors, under pressure from the advanced police team and continuous drone surveillance, abandoned the victim and fled deeper into the forest.

The victim was subsequently reunited with their family after the rescue operation.
