Nigeria Police Force Schedules Promotion Exam for SPs

The Nigeria Police Force is preparing to conduct a promotion examination for hundreds of serving Superintendents of Police (SPs) aiming to elevate to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP). Scheduled from September 28 to September 30, 2026, the examination will take place at designated venues across state commands and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

This initiative follows a directive from the Force Headquarters in Abuja, communicated via a wireless message dated September 23, 2026. The Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the examination in a letter dated September 21, 2026.

The Inspector-General of Police has instructed all relevant commands to notify the affected officers and ensure they prepare adequately by revising their knowledge in law, local acts, and professional studies. Commands are tasked with scrutinizing the list of participants, arranging examination venues, and providing necessary support to PSC officials overseeing the examination.

A comprehensive report on the examination's conduct is due by October 2, 2026.
