Policeman Killed in Third Mainland Bridge Accident

A tragic accident on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos resulted in the death of a policeman when a Lexus car collided with his Bajaj motorcycle. The incident occurred when the driver of the Lexus, identified by the vehicle registration EP 765 JN, lost control and rammed into the motorcycle.

The driver subsequently surrendered to the police at the station. Lagos State Traffic Management Authority spokesperson Adebayo Taofiq confirmed the incident, stating that the police officer died at the scene.

In a separate incident on the same day, a vehicle plunged into a canal along the Badagry Expressway due to the driver being distracted by a mobile phone. This incident resulted in serious injuries to the driver and a female passenger.

Lastma General Manager Olalekan Bakar Oki emphasized the need for motorists to exercise caution and adhere to speed regulations to prevent such tragedies.
