Oyegun Questions Commitment of Nigerian Leaders to Rescue Nation

John Odigi Oyegun, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), expressed skepticism regarding the commitment of Nigeria's political leaders to genuinely rescue the nation and improve the lives of ordinary citizens. In a telephone interview with Daily Trust from Benin City, Oyegun remarked that the current political maneuvering indicates a fundamental issue within Nigeria's political system.

He noted that the political class appears to be infected with a "virus" that prevents them from acting in the best interests of the masses. Oyegun emphasized that the ongoing economic hardships and insecurity in the country would not have reached their current state if the political leaders were truly dedicated to salvaging the situation.

He challenged the opposition to deeply examine their motivations and questioned whether they are genuinely committed to saving the nation and alleviating the struggles of citizens who struggle to afford even a single meal daily. Despite these challenges, he expressed optimism that the opposition is capable of wresting power from the ruling party and ensuring a fair political playing field.
