ADC Chieftain Critiques APC on Nigeria's Insecurity

Professor Gana Isa, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Japan, stated that Nigeria's insecurity issues extend beyond the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Speaking to journalists in Ilorin, he highlighted the necessity for genuine patriotism and effective leadership to restore security in the country.

Isa criticized the current administration for its lack of serious engagement in addressing insecurity, particularly the rampant kidnapping and banditry. He noted that the existing security agencies are overwhelmed and unable to police the country effectively.

Isa called for improved support for independent regional security bodies and argued that the government has not been serious enough in negotiations with bandits, who have become increasingly bold. He observed that the rate of kidnapping and banditry has reached a critical point, especially during the party primaries, urging Nigerians to look beyond political rhetoric and hold leaders accountable for their constitutional duty to protect lives and property.
