Qadiriyya Sufi Sect Backs Tinubu's 2027 Re-election Bid

Sheikh Qaribullah Sheikh Nasiru Kabara, leader of the Qadiriyya Sufi sect in Africa, publicly endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's bid for re-election in the 2027 general elections. This announcement occurred on a Sunday when Sheikh Qaribullah received members of the APC Presidential Campaign Council at his residence.

The delegation was headed by Senator Abdul'aziz Yari, who has been appointed as the Director-General of the campaign council. Sheikh Qaribullah emphasized that Yari's longstanding relationship with the Qadiriyya movement, spanning over two decades, significantly influenced their decision to support Tinubu.

He expressed the sect's belief in Tinubu's "good mission" for the country, which also motivated their endorsement. Additionally, Sheikh Qaribullah revealed plans for the sect to mobilize followers for a prayer campaign addressing national issues such as insecurity, unemployment, and economic hardship.

Senator Yari highlighted the importance of engaging religious leaders in their outreach campaign, acknowledging their societal influence.
