Northern Muslim Women Endorse Tinubu for 2027 Election

On Sunday, during an engagement meeting in Kaduna, no fewer than 500 Muslim women scholars, preachers, and Da’wah leaders from the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 presidential election. This endorsement was made under the auspices of the Muslim Intellectuals Forum and was announced through a communiqué read by Aisha Iliyasu Tukur from Jigawa State.

The women based their support on the perceived achievements of the Tinubu administration in areas such as education, security, infrastructure, and economic development. They emphasized that continuity would allow the government to consolidate its programs and complete ongoing projects.

The communiqué highlighted the Nigerian Education Loan Fund's role in expanding access to tertiary education, noting that 70 percent of its beneficiaries are from the North. Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani stated that the endorsement was based on the administration's performance rather than sentiments, underscoring the influence of the women as religious leaders.
