Morris Monye Addresses NDC Ticket Controversy with Obi

Morris Monye, the former Director of Mobilisation of the Obidient Movement, has publicly addressed the controversy regarding his substitution for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) House of Assembly ticket for Aniocha North in Delta State. He alleges that he was unfairly replaced despite winning the party's primary election.

Monye refrained from speaking out for nearly two months to avoid distracting from Peter Obi's presidential campaign. He revealed that he sought an urgent late-night meeting with Peter Obi after reports of his replacement surfaced, which he attributes to the defection of some APC political figures into the NDC.

Monye claims that the justification for his substitution was based on false reports of losing the primary election. He insists that he only wanted the rightful winner to be recognized and not special treatment.

After discussing the matter with Obi and other leaders, he chose not to pursue any legal or political challenge regarding the ticket, focusing instead on the broader goal of improving Nigeria.
