Oluremi Tinubu Praises Wike for Abuja City Gate Transformation

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, commended Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), for his efforts in transforming Abuja's City Gate into a significant recreational and environmental landmark. This commendation occurred during a ceremony honoring the FCT Administration for its environmental initiatives, which align with the Green Nigeria Challenge of the Renewed Hope Initiative.

Tinubu described the transformation of the City Gate as “unbelievable” and noted that a ₦50 million prize was allocated under the Green Challenge to encourage states to reclaim abandoned spaces, but no state participated in that category. She explained that the initiative aims to convert neglected public spaces into clean environments.

Furthermore, she urged the Wives of State Governors to engage youth in environmental clubs and sustainability initiatives. Wike acknowledged Tinubu's inspiration for the City Gate's transformation and highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for communal gathering and relaxation.
