Pregnant Woman Dies in Ondo Illegal Clinic; Arrests Made

In Ondo State, Nigeria, a 28-year-old pregnant woman identified as Iyanu died after undergoing a medical procedure at an illegal clinic in Odigbo Local Government Area. The Ondo State Police Command arrested Kehinde Olawuyi and his wife, Eniola Olawuyi, following allegations that the medical procedure was mishandled, leading to excessive bleeding and the woman's death.

The couple is currently in police custody as investigations are ongoing. The incident came to light on January 18, 2026, after concerned citizens reported the illegal clinic's operation.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were not registered medical practitioners, and the clinic was operating illegally. The suspects will face charges in court once the investigations are concluded.
