Kwara Procurement Chief Urges Oyo Practitioners to Uphold Ethics

Raheem Abdulbaki, the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of the Kwara State Public Procurement Agency, addressed public procurement practitioners at the inauguration of the Oyo State chapter of the Association of Public Procurement Practitioners of Nigeria (APPON). He emphasized that their responsibilities extend beyond merely awarding contracts, stressing that the future of the procurement profession relies heavily on the integrity, conduct, and attitude of its practitioners and leaders.

Abdulbaki urged practitioners to act in ways that would build confidence among governments, contractors, and the public, advocating for professionalism, ethics, courage, and diligence in their duties. He highlighted the broader role of public procurement in safeguarding public interest and encouraged the newly inaugurated Oyo chapter to facilitate knowledge sharing and professional development.

Additionally, Abdulbaki received the Inter-State Procurement Collaboration and Excellence Award for his leadership in enhancing public procurement systems across states.
