Regis Prograis Retires After Loss to Conor Benn

Regis Prograis, a former two-time super lightweight world champion, announced his retirement from boxing at the age of 37 after losing to Conor Benn at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on a Saturday night. Prograis revealed that he had known for a month prior to the fight that it would be his last but did not disclose this information to anyone.

He described the fight as a "terrific" experience, taking place in front of a crowd of 70,000, and considered it a perfect ending to his story. Reports had circulated before the fight that Prograis was injured, which he confirmed, stating he had contemplated pulling out of the bout 24 hours prior but ultimately decided to proceed.

Prograis concluded his career with a record of 30 wins, 4 losses, and 24 victories by knockout. He held the WBA super lightweight title in 2019 and the WBC super lightweight crown in 2022.
