PRP Urges Rejection of State Police by Tinubu Administration

The People's Redemption Party (PRP) has urged President Bola Tinubu's administration to reject the establishment of state police, expressing concerns regarding the administration's credibility and moral authority to effect significant changes in Nigeria's security framework. PRP's National Chairman, Dr. Hakeem Baba Ahmed, stated that the current administration lacks the trust of the Nigerian people to undertake major shifts in the country's police structure.

The party emphasized the need for a comprehensive review and overhaul of Nigeria's security law enforcement institutions to effectively address national security issues and foster an environment that enhances citizen confidence. The PRP criticized the APC administration for its failure to manage security structures and institutions, suggesting that the establishment of state police would be met with suspicion.
