PRP Accuses Tinubu, APC of Autocracy at Kano Convention

The People's Redemption Party (PRP) convened its national convention in Kano, where it issued strong warnings against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC). PRP's national chairman, Abdulmajid Yakubu Daudu, accused Tinubu of attempting to perpetuate power through alleged anti-democratic actions.

He described the current political climate as one where the ruling party undermines the integrity of elections, referencing the botched June 12 elections and the challenges faced during the Third Republic. Daudu criticized the APC for operating above the law and claimed that the separation of powers has become non-existent, with the legislature acting as an appendage of the executive.

He further stated that public office holders have become billionaires overnight, while anti-corruption watchdogs have lost their effectiveness. The PRP intends to ensure that the electoral process remains representative and that its members continue to fight for freedom and social justice in Nigeria.
