PRP Chieftain Advocates Peaceful Campaigns for 2027 Elections

Yakubu Kingsley, a chieftain of the People's Redemption Party (PRP), made a statement urging political party aspirants to embrace peaceful campaigns in anticipation of the 2027 general elections. He emphasized the importance of avoiding hate speech and inflammatory rhetoric that could undermine Nigeria's democracy.

Kingsley specifically called on President Bola Tinubu to prioritize the country's interests above personal ambitions and to ensure that presidential aspirants conduct themselves responsibly. He appealed to political leaders across party lines to place Nigeria above personal interests and to discourage inflammatory and provocative statements that could incite hatred and deepen divisions.

Kingsley stressed that elections should not be viewed as a life-and-death affair but rather as a constitutional process where Nigerians freely choose their leaders. He called for civil mutual respect and strict adherence to the rule of law.

Additionally, he urged religious leaders and community groups to dedicate time for prayers for the nation's peace and stability during the electoral period.
