PSC Promotes 93 Senior Police Officers, 13 to AIG Rank

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of 93 senior police officers, which includes elevating 13 Commissioners of Police (CPs) to the rank of Assistant Inspector General (AIG). This decision was made during a plenary meeting held on Wednesday at the PSC corporate headquarters in Abuja.

The promotions were based on successful participation in a written examination and oral interview conducted by the commission. Among the newly promoted AIGs are Itam Nnagh, Obono Bassei, Samuel Ewah, and Osagi John, among others.

Additionally, 17 Deputy Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Commissioner, while 28 Assistant Commissioners of Police were elevated to Deputy Commissioner. Furthermore, 33 Chief Superintendents of Police were promoted to Assistant Commissioner.

The PSC also confirmed the appointment of 162 Assistant Superintendents of Police II to substantive ranks. The PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (retd), congratulated the officers and urged them to maintain integrity and professionalism throughout their careers.
