Alexia Putellas to Join London City Lionesses Soon

Alexia Putellas, a two-time Ballon d'Or winner and a prominent figure in women's football, is reportedly set to join the London City Lionesses, where she will share a dressing room with Nigerian international Rofi'at Imuran. Putellas concluded her 14-year spell at FC Barcelona, a period during which she established herself as one of the greatest players in women's football.

The deal is expected to be completed soon, marking a significant move for both Putellas and the London City Lionesses. Imuran will become the second Super Falcon player to play alongside Putellas, following Asisat Oshoala, who was Putellas' teammate at Barcelona during Oshoala's five-year stint with the Spanish giants.

The move comes after months of speculation regarding Putellas' future, with her departure from Barcelona confirmed. Despite interest from clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United, she opted for London City Lionesses, a club owned by billionaire Michele Kang, which finished sixth in the Women’s Super League last season.
