Katsina Governor Radda Launches Free Model School

On October 24, 2023, Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda officially unveiled the Radda Model Secondary School, which is fully funded and aims to deliver free high-quality education to indigent students across the state. The ceremony was attended by Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and other top government officials, including Minister of Education Dr.

Maruf Olatunji Alausa. The school is purpose-built and features a capacity of 500 students, with 42 classrooms designed for a maximum of 40 students each, alongside six specialized laboratories for agriculture, chemistry, biology, physics, and vocational studies.

Currently, the school has enrolled 998 students. The facilities include digital resources such as smart teaching aids and equipped laboratories.

Governor Radda emphasized that the school is part of a broader educational reform agenda aimed at addressing long-standing inequities in access to quality education and ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has the opportunity to excel. The initiative is part of a plan to construct 75 new schools and rehabilitate hundreds across underserved communities in Katsina State.
