Raducanu Aims for Wimbledon Despite Injury Concerns

Emma Raducanu, the British tennis player and 2021 US Open champion, has expressed her intention to participate in Wimbledon despite facing a leg injury that has raised concerns about her fitness. Raducanu, seeded 30th, is set to begin her campaign against Croatia's Antonia Ruzic.

She made the decision to play after a short practice session at the England club on Sunday. Raducanu has been dealing with a shin issue for several months, which has affected her training schedule.

She was seen wearing a protective boot on Wednesday and was unable to train on Thursday and Friday. Raducanu managed to return to the court on Saturday for a gentle hour-long session, although she cut it short after playing a practice set against Russia's Anna Kalinskaya.

This injury setback is part of a series of challenges Raducanu has faced since her fairytale victory in New York five years ago, including a disrupted season due to viral illness earlier this year.
