Raheem Sterling Charged with Dangerous Driving Offences

Raheem Sterling, a 31-year-old former player for Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea, has been charged with dangerous driving, possession of nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation, and failing to provide a specimen following a crash involving his Lamborghini on the M3 motorway in Hampshire on May 28, 2026. A spokesman for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed the charges.

Sterling was arrested at the scene and later released on bail while police conducted further inquiries. Initially, there were suspicions of him driving while unfit through drugs, but this was not included in the final charges.

Sterling is currently without a club after leaving Dutch side Feyenoord at the end of the 2024/25 season, having joined the club in February 2025 after a mutual separation from Chelsea. He will appear before Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on September 15, 2026.
