Raheem Sterling's Future at Feyenoord Uncertain After Transfer

Raheem Sterling's future with Feyenoord is in doubt only nine weeks after his arrival on a free transfer from Chelsea in February. The 31-year-old winger, who has 82 caps for the England national football team, has made just six appearances for the Eredivisie side.

Concerns about his fitness and form have arisen, as he has not registered any goals or assists in 333 minutes of play. Sterling's former manager at Manchester City, Enzo Maresca, had him train away from the first team for six months prior to his move abroad.

Current Feyenoord coach Robin van Persie was expected to revive Sterling's career, but reports from Dutch outlet AD Sportsnieuw suggest the club is already questioning his long-term role. Van Persie publicly backed Sterling despite his quiet debut, where he remained on the bench during a 1-1 draw against NEC Nijmegen.

At least 18 European clubs are reportedly interested in Sterling, who may need to accept a short-term deal to secure regular football.
