EFCC Questions Peter Obi Supporters Over Currency Abuse

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) questioned Peter Obi supporters, Mama Pee and Peter Akah, due to allegations of financial misconduct involving naira notes. Their lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, disclosed that the activists were invited for questioning on June 24, 2026, and were initially scheduled to appear on July 6, but the meeting was rescheduled to July 15.

Effiong clarified that the EFCC's investigation focused on allegations of currency abuse, asserting that the money in question was not genuine naira notes. After the interrogation, both activists were released from the EFCC headquarters, with further interactions expected as the investigation continues.

Effiong commended the EFCC officials for their professional conduct during the session and assured the public that the activists were in good spirits despite concerns for their safety.
