BIPC Reports 83% Completion of Taraku Mills Rehabilitation

The Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) reported that the rehabilitation of Taraku Mills has reached 83% completion. Currently, the factory is undergoing test-running and is expected to transition to commercial dry-runs and certification before a full market rollout between October and November.
BIPC has registered 2,847 farmers across twelve local government areas in Benue State through its aggregation model. Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, the group managing director, stated that the project will generate 1,500 direct jobs and over 5,000 indirect jobs for farmers, transporters, and distributors.
The projected annual turnover for Taraku Mills is N8.2 billion, with an anticipated savings of over $2.5 million on edible oil imports. The total installed capacity is 200MT per day, with two restored soybean crushing lines.
BIPC plans to establish three aggregation centers in Taraku, Gboko, and Otukpo, with a combined storage of 3,000MT.
