Egyptian Partners Assess Benue Oil Mill at 75% Ready

Al Wadi Al Akhdar Oil Mills, represented by Saleh Mansury, evaluated the Taraku Mills in Benue State and rated it 75% ready for full-scale production. This assessment occurred during an on-site inspection aimed at reviving operations that halted in 2013.

The evaluation involved officials from the Corporate Communications and Information Technology Unit of the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) and focused on the factory's equipment, production systems, and operational processes. Mansury indicated that only 25% of the work remains, primarily concerning upgrades to the boiler and solvent machine, which are essential for aligning the facility with modern technology, improving efficiency, and reducing energy consumption.

He stated that production could commence once these upgrades are completed and mentioned plans to introduce additional production lines for cake production. Mansury also encouraged local farmers to increase the cultivation of soybeans, groundnuts, and maize, which are vital raw materials for the mill.

Engr. James Emmanuel affirmed the factory's good condition and its potential for effective operation.
