Ogun PPRO Urges Students to Reject Cultism and Crime

On Thursday, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, addressed students at the 45th Students Parliament Council Summit held at the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta. He urged Nigerian students to reject cultism, drug abuse, violence, and cybercrime, emphasizing that their choices today will shape the future of the nation.

The summit, themed ‘From Campus to Nation: Mobilising for Peace, Security and Development,’ highlighted the importance of students as critical stakeholders in national security. Babaseyi warned that cultism stems from low self-esteem and insecurity, advocating for self-confidence and responsible participation in society.

He also encouraged students to use social media responsibly, especially as the 2027 general elections approach, promoting peaceful political participation and issue-based engagement. He reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force, under IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, and the Ogun State Command, led by CP Bode Ojajuni, to ensure safety and security in educational environments.
