Sowore Demands Release of Gbajabiamila Interrogation Video

Omoyele Sowore, a human rights activist and president of the African Action Congress (AAC), has demanded that the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) release the full unedited video of Femi Gbajabiamila's interrogation. This request follows allegations concerning the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC).

Sowore made this demand on Tuesday, dismissing the ICPC's explanation that Gbajabiamila merely honored an invitation to be investigated. He criticized the commission's statement as a "smokescreen" and called for transparency.

The ICPC confirmed that Gbajabiamila, who is the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, voluntarily appeared at their headquarters in Abuja to respond to questions related to the ongoing investigation. The inquiry is focused on the circumstances surrounding the PFIPC, which has faced scrutiny after the Central Bank of Nigeria admitted to opening two foreign currency domiciliary accounts purportedly linked to the agency.

Adeniyi Adeyemi, the Director General of PFIPC, is also involved in the controversy, facing potential prosecution.
