Arewa Youth Council Warns Against DSS Bias Claims

The Arewa Youth Council expressed concern over claims of religious bias against the Department of State Services (DSS) in Nigeria, which they believe could undermine national security. During a press conference, spokesman Abdulsamad Ibrahim highlighted that such allegations, particularly regarding the arrest patterns of DSS Director Oluwatosin Ajayi, could worsen the country's fragile security situation.

Ibrahim stated that the DSS operates within a constitutional legal framework and emphasized the importance of public cooperation in tackling security threats. He lamented that Nigerians often interpret crimes through the lens of religion and ethnicity, allowing criminals to evade justice while innocent citizens suffer.

The council urged Nigerians, especially social media users, to exercise restraint and verify information before dissemination, as misrepresentation of security agency actions can erode public confidence in national institutions.
