Kebbi Commissioner Denies Existence of 'Sai Malam' Group

Alhaji Yakubu Ahmad, the Kebbi State Commissioner, addressed reports regarding an alleged insurgent group named 'Sai Malam,' labeling them as false and politically motivated. Speaking in Abuja during a visit to the Media Trust Group headquarters, Ahmad stated that the claims were fabricated by political opponents aiming to spread misinformation.

He confirmed that investigations by the police and the Department of State Services (DSS) revealed no terrorist group operates in Kebbi State. The commissioner explained that the group in question consisted of suspects involved in cybercrime and blackmailing wealthy individuals.

He highlighted the state government's significant investments in security, including logistics, welfare support for military and police, and the establishment of local policing to address security challenges effectively. Ahmad's visit aimed to strengthen collaboration with the Media Trust Group, represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Ahm Shekarau, who pledged continued cooperation with the state government.
