AAC Candidate Calls for Urgent Flood Relief in Ondo

Oyekan Abiodun, the African Action Congress (AAC) House of Representatives candidate for the Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency in the 2027 election, has called on the Ondo State Government to urgently assist victims of devastating flooding in Igbokoda, Okitipupa, and other coastal communities in the Ondo South Senatorial District. In a statement issued on Monday, Abiodun described the flooding as a humanitarian emergency requiring immediate intervention from state and federal agencies.

He noted that the flooding has left many residents homeless, with homes submerged and families displaced. Abiodun emphasized that the situation has escalated beyond seasonal challenges, leading to significant loss of property and livelihoods.

He urged Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to implement practical, long-term solutions rather than temporary measures. Abiodun also highlighted the need for emergency shelters, food, clean water, and medical care for affected residents, while calling for a comprehensive assessment of damages to facilitate relief and compensation.
