National Assembly Plans Security Roundtable and Youth Town Hall

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abba Tajudeen, announced plans for a national security roundtable and youth town hall scheduled for July 14-16, 2026, as part of the National Assembly's third open week. This initiative aims to commemorate the third anniversary of the 10th Assembly and promote transparency, inclusiveness, and reform in Nigeria's democratic processes.

The open week will provide Nigerians an opportunity to engage with Parliament, evaluate its performance, and contribute ideas to strengthen democratic institutions. The national security roundtable will focus on critical discussions regarding state police and broader national security reforms, while the youth town hall will emphasize the role of young Nigerians in shaping the future of democracy in the country.

The events will also address the importance of reserving seats for women and persons with disabilities in legislative processes.
