Nigerian Resident Doctors to Discuss Ultimatum Over Unresolved Welfare Issues

The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) will hold an extraordinary National Executive Council (NEC) meeting to review the 30-day ultimatum issued to the Nigerian government. The ultimatum, set to expire on September 26, demands the resolution of various welfare and policy issues affecting resident doctors, including irregular work hours, salary arrears, and unjust dismissals.

NARD also criticizes the non-payment of salary arrears and allowances, delays in promotions and upgrades, and the exclusion of resident doctors from certain benefits. The meeting aims to decide on potential industrial action if the government fails to address these concerns promptly.
